Speaking of whales, is that going to come back in a later episode? I was watching one of the eps from season 2 when the gang is on Namek, and a whale emerges at just the right moment to hide Gohan and Krillin from Vegeta. Of course, I thought of you guys. :-)
As usual, the film adaptation leaves out the animal violence (That Whale wasn't SUNK!).
